  1. Check out page 43. Is that a conveyor belt that will go across CR 971? Looks like it goes from the crusher to the asphalt plant. Wonder how the school buses and parents will feel driving under a conveyor belt full of rocks? Who pays the insurance on that, the County?

  2. these guys keep saying this quarry will only be 40 acres, but if demand is good and I've got more rock in the ground, I'm not stopping at 40 acres when my permit says I can go in there and get rock in 421 acres. That's for damn sure.

Folks a "40 acre hole" is HUGE....HUGE. the entire 421 acres will be part fo the operation. scales, crushers, rock washing, run off ponds, storgae piles, dirst piles, garages........this is a massive operation and they say they will have asphalt and concrete plants too. Any one who thinhs this is going to be a speck on the map is smoking crack. You will be able to see this thing from outer space it will be so big. I just can't believe that the city and county would just trun a blind eye to this and let the local beer king and a buch of new yarkers screw us like this without asking a few hard questions. To make it worse, we don't even get any tax revenve from this to fix our roads and bridges after their trucks destroy them.

don't forget the ready-mix plant, the brick manufacturing plant, and the concrete pipe plant. (none of which are listed in their TDEC application)

I hope I can land a job there. I would love to work again. my family is going hungry because there is no work in our area here in Calhoun. The only way we are able to survive is by the grace of God. An angel came to me in a dream last week, and said "Ye shall have work when the quarry comes" Praise The Lord!!
